Vintage driving experience
Following on from the Iconic vehicles thread, how many other modern vehicles, like the Defender give you the feeling you are driving a classic/vintage car?

I'll start the ball rolling -

Very few... Exclamation

This is my brothers 356...(long complicated build story), selective modern Porsche / VW Mechanicals
old style original fixtures, with obsessive level of detailing, drives really well, but feels like your in a time warp...

Sorry, but in my book unless the gear lever and handbrake are beside your right leg (or outside the body on the right) and the accelerator is between the clutch and brake pedals, then it isn't remotely vintage!

This stunner here. When I have time later to tinker with a real classic, I will probably choose one of these over a Series II or III.
The SVX will remain as my modern people carrier then. Laughing

You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
