First picture looks like a leaking swivel seal to me. I think I'd want this done under warranty on a vehicle that's only a couple of years old. Once out of warranty, I probably wouldn't worry too much until it was worse than that.
Can't really see too much of a gearbox leak; just a bit of staining. If drips are forming I would want it sorted. You can't check the gearbox oil level like you used to be able to. You just have to empty it out and refill with the specified quantity. |

Cheers Rich - leak on the gearbox is worse than it looks in the pic, not really drips, but definitely wetter than it looks in the pic. Will drop by the dealership at some point and get them to have a look.

1. swivel oil leak is worth a trip to the dealership (still under warranty)? also get them to check Offside at same time
2. gear box or crank shaft oil seal is worth a trip to the dealership (still under warranty)? both worth a trip to deal ship under warranty  |

As per the others, you want to get them sorted while still under warranty as there is no inbuilt self healing

The gearbox picture looks like it could be the rear crankshaft seal leaking
Get it back to the dealer. |

I had similar gearbox leak fixed under my warranty. Took them two attempts. It turned out to be a gasket on the sump.

Sorry, for the delay - just to confirm that the dealership replaced the swivel seal and one of the main gearbox seals under warranty. Thanks all for the advice
Very good service actually (Stockport Land Rover), they recommended I went through Land Rover assist as the dealership had a long wait for courtesy cars... Defender ended up being picked up by AA recovery truck, I was sent to the dealership by taxi FOC and had a brand new RRS for a week  |
