DPF Regeneration
I have over the past few months become more aware of when the DPF regeneration is taking place.

The exhaust becomes a lot more throaty almost as if there is a leak.

Should I be worried?

not sure, but my disco4 did it, and quite often misfired during it too... Defender does it but doesn't misfire Rolling Eyes

I'm completely the opposite. My 2015 110 USW Heritage has now done 2900km and I haven't been able to detect it performing a regen in all that time. 2015 110 Defender Heritage Utility Station Wagon

Mine is very throaty during a regen 👍 I do have a straight through pipe after the dpf though which would mean more noise would escape. But even so before the replacement exhaust I could still hear the regen happening. The timing is altered which makes the noise happen.

It's when it doesn't make the noise and the warning lamps come on you need to worry 👍

I can notice mine, exhaust note change, feels like it goes a little better as well, seems to pick up and be a bit more responsive. I also notice that it's a bit warmer under the bonnet.

I've done around 6k miles in mine from new, its probably done it 4 or 5 times. The spawn of AndrewS

Mine's a MY 2012 : never heard it, never saw it, never smelled it.
Could be just because I'm no man.

There's a difference between active and passive regen.
