[For Sale] Defender 90 TD5 Soft Top - very low mileage
Hi All,

Very reluctantly selling my 90 TD5 soft top, 1999 with genuine 51,000 miles from new.....

Was originally a Hard top and owned by National Trust from new and was then bought by the driver whose vehicle it was on a day to day basis who converted it to the soft top. I bought it from him and have had over the last year and only done just over a 1,000 miles which is part of the reason for sale plus having a number of the other toys which need input.

Sensible extras including 5 x hardly worn BFG Mud Terrains 235/85/16 on Boosts, Safari Snorkel, Exmoor Trim Hood, Heavy Duty hood stick replacement with Black powder coated door surrounds, Lockable cubby box, Mantec Swingaway on side opening tailgate, A Bar with Hella 2000's, Waxoyled, LR Rubber load mat, 30mm Spacers, RDX Steering Wheel, Waterproof seat covers, LR Side Steps etc. Drives superb and just gone through MOT with no advisories. All previous MOT certificates to verify mileage. Standard engine other than straight through centre exhust and EGR removed.

Usual dings and scratches!

If you are interested and require more info please get in touch. Any inspection welcome.

As I say other projects and time constraints mean that with great regret it has to go so looking for close offers on £11,995.

Many thanks

Is that a crease or a reflection below the fuel filler ??

Are these later hoods draughty like earlier Series ones. Know someone interested, but his wife would prefer hardtop as she isnt a fan of the cold. feedback appreciated

Hi,

Yes that is a small crease, as mentioned there are the usual dents and dings but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. A day with the dent man would resolve most of the adverse features.

In terms of the hood this is very snug and no issues with the cold. Unlike some of my previous Defenders the heater is very good and it is no colder than the previous County I had probbaly actually warmer. I tend to run it with the rear window rolled up regardless of the weather but it is not draughty. The only issue I would mention is that at speed there is some canvas slap on the heavy duty hood sticks but I have placed velcro on the side bars so it is only the roof aspect which flaps which again would be sorted by velcro. This is only really evident above 50/60 mph. In very heavy rain whilst stood you occasionally get some small puddles in the footwell but I have had this on Hardtops and County variants and most Defenders have the same issue. Would probably be sorted with new door seals but never bothered me as no carpets just the vinyl floor plus rubber over mats.

If you need any other detail let me know.

Cheers
