Cheers. I've been talking to R Dover who had a similar problem after his remap and seems like there may be an AFM problem on his. I think he's been talking to you about this. Like his, the rough running seemed to be worse with the modded file installed and not just so bad with the standard map so I'm wondering if I have an AFM problem too. Having said that the poor mpg only started after I re-installed the stabdard map!

EGR Valves are notorious for failing and there are several threads on the issue and numerous people (myself included) that have had to have them swapped out under warranty! As a 'layman' and the fact that three of your fault codes pertain to this historically faulty item could it be yours is stuck? I would suggest a diagnosis (which you obviously have either had done or are capable of doing yourself as you have the codes) and a 'swap out' under warranty or removal of the offending item and a thorough clean in brake cleaner yourself (if not under warranty) to see if you can whittle the codes away! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

That's what I wanted to hear! The Defender is under warranty but the dealer is incompetent so I wanted confirmation before going in and demanding staff dismissals!

The EGR fault - If not cleared - will throw up a range of other faults and they seem to then screw up running and mpg.
My EGR valve works - but every so often it seems to want to stick open or stick closed. Mike |
