Corrosion claim
Bought an approved used 130 last year and it was delivered with corrosion to the bumper which had been badly touched up by Lloyd Landrover Carlisle.

While she was in for service at Chipperfield I have asked for bulkhead, windscreen surround and bulkhead brackets to be painted under warranty along with the bumper. All agreed by LR apart from the bumper which "isn't bodywork". While this might be vague, the preparation of this bumper and (as shown) hand brush marks are not the level of approved used car prep I find acceptable for LR.

The bumper looks a mess and I feel the rejected claim is very poor considering how badly it was prepared for sale. My understanding is any work carried out by LR last August should be covered by 12 months warranty and this painting would be just that? The vehicle is due to be in the paint shop for 7 days already.

Last August on collection

If its been touched up since factory by land rover then its nothing to do with warranty as such. Its sale of goods act and trading standards.

I could imagine that threat alone will suffice

I had a very small amount of rust on the underside of front bumper, entire front bumper was replaced under warranty within 48hrs - no questions asked. Also bought approved second hand. (Guy Salmon Knutsford - very happy with them)

My 2012 front bumper is badly corroding too. I didn't think to try and claim under corrosion warranty, I just got tempted by a refurbished Twisted bumper at the LRO Show, still have to fit it though.

Whilst LR should replace/re-powder coat, I'd imagine it would corrode within a similar period? James

Bumper is only covered until the end of the std warranty... So, unfortunately you'll have to pay for a new one...

The corrosion warranty only covers the bodywork after the 3 year period... and even then, you actually have to have a hole for them to do anything... I've had no end of bother with some small corrosion issues in the rear of the 110... The dealer even said that because I didn't have my 3rd year service completed by them that the corrosion warranty was invalid!!!... It took alot of arguing with them and some kind assistance from the CRC on here to finally sort it... Seems because I had my recall done for the oil pump at the time my 3rd service was due I fell through a gap...
Anyway, Hopefully I'll get the 110 into a dealer to get it sorted soon..

Regards

Tim It doesn't matter how bad it is, It can always get worse...
