After living with an annoying rattle from day one and much investigation I have today found the culprit. I've removed trim, checked the towing equipment and all with no answer.
Click image to enlarge It's the galvanised bracket that sits above the seat belt spool. If you've got the same then look here first. I removed it and applied pu adhesive to both flanges to bond it in place and then refixed it - hopefully problem solved. |

...is a never ending story
Mr JK's 90 has a rattle coming from that area. I normally identify them by letting her drive and I crawl around the truck I do get very funny looks from passing vehicles, but shutting down an annoying rattle/squeak is such a victorious feeling...at least for me. You might have saved me some embarrassing moments though ginjez MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

Been out tonight and the rattle is cured . Just tightening the fixings didn't cure the problem hence the p.u adhesive

This is the stereo system I've fitted. Having the Transit custom with dab, text to talk and voice commands as standard I felt I needed it in the Defender too. The dab aerial is the screen type which is stuck to one of the alpine windows. I think this stereo looks more oem than the Alpine unit - it even has auto dimming when lights on. Finding the loom adapter was a bit of a pain ( no iso plugs in the 2.2)

Fitted the mud under cubby sliding drawer unit together with mud cubby tray.
Drawer unit works well even though I have the cargo barrier behind the bulk head removal bar. Click image to enlarge |
