another very sad day and my heart felt sympathies go out to all those involved and witnessed such carnage. after 911 and numerous other events I wouldn't call it shocking. and looking back over the last 2000 years I'd suggest living in harmony isn't going to happen nor indeed while some feel that non believers / infidels should be destroyed. If you had a room full on paedophiles having a big knees up in one hall and a kids party going on next door would you feel it a good idea to get em all together and have a joint jolly? to my mind while different people have different ideas they ain't going to get on - nice thought tho. |

To me it's still shocking as is every attack in France, Belgium and London since 911 due in part to my belief these are safe civilised places I have taken my children on family holidays
I agree there will be no sitting down and talking with people who believe blowing themselves up to kill as many people as possible gives them glory in the afterlife - they're not human or animals even - they need eradicating like a virus or bacteria Govts of the world need to unite to hunt them down and destroy them then innocent people will be safer once more Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

Terrible news indeed apparently 84 innocent people dead including little children with many critically injured.
My thoughts and condolences for the many families involved. Also my thoughts are with the police, ambulance, hospital staff etc who have to deal with the aftermath of the attack. Brendan |

There's to be no end to this lunacy, I fear.
Had some lovely times in Nice - so, so sad to see that atrocity happen there. Echoing the members' messages above, my thoughts are with the bereaved and with the injured and those caring for them. May the victims rest in peace. |

Words fail me. The people who do these things are not human, but pure evil. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I disagree. In most cases the people who actually do something like this are not inherently evil any more than our own front line troops are. They have been led to believe that what they are doing is right and for the greater good of what they believe. They have been manipulated and even brainwashed into not seeing the the horror of their actions which they are perpetrating on non combatants. In that respect they are no different to us with the exception of the level of misery they intentionally seek to cause as opposed to us attempting at every turn to mitigate our actions of combat to only have effect on those actively seeking combat with us. In both cases though what you don't have is the people who make the decisions actually carrying them out. The real evil is held in the minds of those giving the order to fight, no matter what the background of these people be they from the West or Middle East they are all essentially the same; power hungry, self serving, politically ambitious, bullying, cowards who have found themselves in a position where they can inflict their own hatred on the rest of the world without actually getting their hands dirty. Unfortunately people like this will always exist and in turn will always find an audience they can manipulate and the rest of humanity will always suffer. It has been going on since before we learned as a species the concept of you and I and will continue until we have destroyed ourselves. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

And there is lies the problem. Because they want you to do this so it justifies the lies they are being told. Of course you can't talk the murderers round. Any more than you could talk an IRA bomber round. BUT. You can alter the crucible that these people are forged in. Why do people think that young men believe that they should go and do such things? Because they are told that the West are Kafir (unbeliever) and are responsible for the bombing of millions, not tens, not hundreds, but millions of Muslim people. The majority of Muslim people understand that we personally weren't responsible, however as Lambert says, those who want to maintain this status quo, and retain the power they have they will keep pushing this agenda. What is playing by their rules? Do we start indoctrinating young people, remove the internet and ban dancing to have only faith schools and then spend five years educating them in a religion but only teach them 'eye for an eye' and not 'turn the other cheek'? Then send them out undercover to places as tourists only to blow up one of their schools? That sounds like a great plan that could never, ever go wrong. Alternatively we could invade Afghanistan, police the Country for ten years and try and install order. Because that should work.... oh wait. All Religions are linked by one common thread. Peace. Do not kill each other. It's fairly fundamental rule and why is it there? Because our nature is to fear or dominate another so they wrote rules as to why that's not a great idea. The only way this will end is that we either all get wiped out by disease/planet killing asteroid/sun goes supernova - the dismantling of religion (never going to happen) or the education of everyone that all that is happening is innocent people are dying and perhaps if everyone stops hating and killing each other, it might eventually stop. I was fiercely anti IRA for many decades for many reasons that I won't go into and I was so angry at the giving in to people like Adams and McGuinness (who for me are the Irish equivalent of Mullah Omar and Bin Laden) but I got over it because it worked. There is still a tiny fraction of people who can't live without the previous world, but on the whole it's brought peace to both N.Ireland and Britain. Final point on this. in Dec 2015, 70,000 Muslim clerics in India signed a fatwa (a ruling on a point of Islamic law) that decreed ISIS, Taliban, AQ and other terrorist groups were not Islamic Organisations and were a threat to all humanity. That's how you fight these idiots. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info |
