PAS bleed - how to get to nipple!!??
Can anyone please help me. I am having some issues with the steering on my 110 puma - grunt turning left, and intermittent slack in straight ahead position. Don't know if both are related, but would like to bleed the PAS to make sure all is ok with the fluid (level is within marks on dip stick - although I have two lines on it - assume needs to be to top line?)
Looked at it today and can't figure out how to access the bleed nipple. The only way I managed to reach it was to part remove lower fan cowl and part remove air filter box - neither removed fully as looks like I need to either drain the cooling system or air con!!?? Now to bleed/replace the PAS fluid, the manual says to run the pump - I don't fancy ding that with parts only partly removed! Surely it is npot necessary to drain down systems just to access the nipple?
Has anyone flushed their PAS and if so, how?
The slack in the steering wheel is apparent sometimes, but not always, so don't really want to try tightening the steering box - any ideas anyone?

Don't quote me I'm no expert but I thought all the bleeding that was required was engine running with front wheels able to swivel so you can turn the steering lock to lock a few times and that would purge the PAS fluid through the system.
Also keep checking the fluid level, top up likely to desired level.

Hi Steve, I also have read this, but was wanting/thinking about replacing the fluid so I know I am starting from 'as new'.

Am I missing something - how does the old fluid leave the system?

Your right there is a drain, but I'm afraid I don't know the location of it.

Someone with WSM details would best guide you, I have one but not to hand.
