Do it for the looks you'll be fine.
Do it for the performance and I think you'll be disappointed. I've driven with people running those tyres (265 KO2 and 285 KO1) on what should have been more capable vehicles than mine and I had much more control than they did on my 7.50 Latitudes. 265 will fit without any issues and was standard on the NAS spec ones. 285 should fit until you need lots of articulation at which point you might have rubbing issues. Both will need the steering lock stops adjusted and both will put more mud up the sides of your car. Running 255/85R16 on Wolfs I got fed up with the mud and the reduced turning circle very quickly. |

From what I've read on here, I think most suggest 265x75R16 or stick with the standard 235x85R16, both same rolling diameter and no issues with rubbing.
Maybe 265 for look of the wider tyre, but some would argue (especially Cupboard) the narrow 235 will give better traction in mud.  James

But if you don't do mud you can with the right offset go as wide as 305s on 16 X 8's with no spacers, bumpstop adjustment or fouling whatsoever. Stops have never been adjusted since purchase. It depends on intended use and the look/stance you wish to achieve.

 Maybe a little bit! Don't forget the lower rolling resistance too.

Cheers for your input chaps I'm torn between the 285 vs the 265 CAMELMAN is your running on standard height suspension. I'm mostly going for the looks I'll be doing a bit of green leaning nothing to wild and hopefully a bit of wild camping but i don't want it to wander like a lifted truck can
