Tricky to get to but it's easy job just takes a bit of time

Step 1, do not try and do this until the engine is cold. Remove wiring connector. Step 2, remove top bolt from egr where it meets the cooler, 10mm spanner. Reached from the top, easy. Step 3, do the same with the bottom bolt, easier access from under vehicle, great if you've a ramp but okay lying on your back. Not too bad. Step 4, as the valve is not attached to the exhaust cooler it does allow the valve to be moved enough to remove the bolts from the outlet pipe, 8mm 1/4" drive socket and short extension. Replacement is reverse of above. It is a pig of a job but not as bad as what it first looks like. I've got XL size hands which doesn't help but now I know how to do it it's about 30-45 minute job.......oh yea, loss of a bit of skin is likely I started with nothing and still have most of it left! |

Thanks for the explanation.A picture or drawing, I do not know where it is and I have to take it of to verify it. The def is at home with a error P0101 but the mass flow meter look as new. The MAF DTC is likely caused hand in hand with the EGR, the MAF sensor is most likely fine.

€300,-- is much too expensive. If you want to travel to Friedberg (Hessen) I can recommend a workshop for €96,-- netto, they already did it twice for me. I bought a VEMO EGR (V24-63-0003). In addition I cleaned MAP and LMM myself as mentioned above. But I strongly recommend to get a remap with EGR programmed OUT! I have good experience with BAS. The costs are moreless the same when changing the EGR, but the biggest advantage: no more problems. Due to the Brexit decision and the relation EUR/GBP it got very reasonable.... |
