I told my insurer the remap (BAS150) was 'primarily for efficiency' (which it is) - but as a result of the remap that 'the bhp would certainly be increased'.
This was a no no, in that they wouldn't even consider insuring the vehicle - that is, until further discussion where it was noticed that it was a diesel and apparently that's quite OK then . I have no idea why a diesel makes any difference in this regard, but I'll take it! $0 difference in premium. I got the rep on the phone to write me an email that outlined the outcome of the discussion in no uncertain terms. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

^ hehehe I told my wife the Brabus box was an eco box meaning more mpg...
the extra 50bhp and nearly 100Lbs ft torque was also nice though |

Hiya, I'm out in Congo right now so hadn't seen the posts ECH,
Yeah sounds about right, don't recall now, I sent the email asking for a quote and posted the info from Pete Bells site for the remap, they came back with an adjustment. Personally I don't really think their 'risk' has changed but for the sake of full disclosure and less than 10p a day I'm comfortable enough with the cost. Gary 3 Landrovers |
