Whilst crawling under the car this evening I noticed that the cross member under the gearbox looks s bit like it should have a mount for the gearbox on it. Has something gone missing?...

Bluest - you are of course totally justified in your question! We're just taking the micky because it does get asked so often, but you can see why! It is a very bizarre setup from LR. I don't know if anyone's ever given a reason for it? Assume it's a hang over from a previous configuration. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

That same thing nearly caught me in 2003 when I got a new Td5 110 but the gap was so big I couldn't for the life of me see how you could stick a bolt in and draw it down without stuffing alignment of other bits up.
Just one of the many bizarre things about Deafeners.......and there's more of course since the penny pinching era of Ford ownership. AlanH. |
