They will wait for a long time Simple answer is we do not sell on Amazon and we do not sell baseball caps etc. So is it a scam? If so how does it work? This comes from email address wu3hi6so2ri4vu1fi8we0ku3po4fa5mu2pi6bo7po8...ing.com.au Bit of a mouthful of an email address to remember! Brendan |

No names, no contact information, I'd delete and forget all about it! James

I've just cut and pasted the email address into Google and got this dialogue box pop up on my mac..:
You are about to log in to the site "agilitemarketing.com.au" with the username "wu3hi6so2ri4vu1fi8we0ku3po4fa5mu2pi6bo7po8pu2", but the website does not require authentication. This may be an attempt to trick you. Is "agilitemarketing.com.au" the site you want to visit? Time to delete. I wouldn't even reply telling them it get stuffed either. Are you saying this is not the forum for raising funds for my unicorn farm?

Am not losing any sleep nor funding any unicorn farms either!
Just wondering what they hope to gain. In our case not a lot, not even the proverbial 2 fingers! Brendan |

I am no way an IT expert, and this might be way out of date nowadays...
but I believe at one time real live emails addresses were of value to spammers etc. So they would send out any old nonsense to 1000s of random email addresses and wait for replies. They weren't interested what you reply, just the fact you replied confirmed it was a real email address they had sent to. I think just opening the email could send confirmation to their server that the email was valid - especially if it contains an image etc because that has to be fetched from a server by a link in the email. Anything dodgy sounding I always look at the message source/properties rather than opening it. I don't know whether this does any good or not, but (hopefully) doesn't do any harm. |
