A post to cycling fans and also French based Def2 members (Languedoc, Riverboy). Anyone planning to attend the Mont Ventoux stage of this year's Tour? Thurs 14th July. Bastille Day on one of the Tour's most iconic climbs? Could be a great day out. Whilst I think it is almost 'round the corner' for Riverboy, for Languedoc and I it is roughly equidistant. I might be coming with at least one, perhaps two other Defs as well.
Let me know.... http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2016/us/stage-12.html Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I would love to but my 110 won't be ready by then. It's currently doorless, windowless, bonnetless and all the interior and wheels gone!
I would have to steal the wife's X5 and risk murder! |

That's a shame. No other Def owners nearby? Monsieur Le Grenadier

Thursday July 14 is Santana in Montreux. My choice. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Not done Montoux but did Alpe d'Huez last year. More than a 'day out' if you: a. Want to park up the mountain, you'll need to get in the queue at early o'clock in the morning before they open the road, normally 0600h b. You want to drink. Given the riders won't be through until 1600ish, that's 12hrs of beer But well worth it. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Would love to come and join in but Its a week day which is a bit of a pain for me as I'm trying to bank up my Holiday.
When are you releasing details from the UTMB? I need to book time off for that and from the looks of things it may have been booked already Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Sorry, going to the penultimate stage at Morzine.
Out of interest I saw ZZ Top in Birmingham the night before they appeared at Glastonbury, they were in great form and good fun, everyone knew all the songs of course and they slipped in plenty of improvised blues along the way to break it up, enjoy. |

Touch base. I live in St Gervais, finish for the Friday stage (Bettex) and just ten mins from Megeve. Will likely head to Morzine as I have friends who live there. Indeed, will be doing Emosson Dam on the Weds and cycling down to Sallanches for the TT. Four days just minutes from home. Epic.
Meant to be doing the etape next week, not trained nearly enough. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
