We use Gallup and can't fault it apart from the aforementioned 'kill everything/scorched earth effect' it leaves in the fields.
Yes it is slow but it certainly works after a few weeks. |

Sorry to reopen this thread, however, about to buy and try Gallup 360 and was just wondering if anyone was using it for gravel driveway as opposed to clearing pasture, and of course are you happy with its performance. Always used Weedol2 dry granules which worked well, however, new liquid sachets which replaced granules do not appear to work at all. Many thanks

I bought it mostly for use on a gravel drive and it's very effective for that. Ian One wife - livid

It will work just as well on gravel or patios as it does in fields.

Believe if or not the EU comes into this again.
Glysophate was due to be be banned permanently shortly under the EU for anyone bar professional use. I.e. No one without holding spraying certificates. So even if you are highly responsible you would have told your not good enough to spray a weed on your front car drive. |

Good advice about using a wetting agent with the weed killer. A pure form of wetting agent can be found under the kitchen sink, well it can in our house, in the form of the dishwasher finish liquid. As it's a wetting agent it can keep glass clear, such as diving masks, goggles, mirrors and windscreens.

SBK - very good stuff, not the cheapest but you don't need much, it's used to kill docks and brambles around my place without killing grass, you can put a dose on tree stumps too, excellent stuff....

Anyone have any advice on something suitable to permanently get rid of White Dead nettles? Needs to be selective I.e. Not grass killing.
I've used what was Verdone Extra Now Weedol lawn last year, and will have to again this year for now. That is selective and knocks them right down but as it isn't systemic so they keep coming back in certain patches each year Been looking at Grazon Pro, but it isn't cheap and has so many warnings to it etc I'm a bit put off. It is however systemic so kills the root too. Where this stuff grows I had sown some grass seed last autumn but the damned things have overcrowded that and took over again. Pretty much got control of Ragwort and docks but the Dead nettles and Fat hen are more persistent, the dead nettles are my biggest problem as they are trying to spread too. They can't be self seeding as I won't let them get to that stage so much be spreading by rhizome / roots. Any thoughts? Ideally I'd like to not have to be spraying anything but if I don't I'll end up with a weed patch not pasture. |
