Hello
I just got my very first Defender and I am thrilled to bits. However there are a few small jobs to do and would appreciate any advise/help. 1. I need a front middle seat complete preferably tweed but vinyl is ok. 2. How to convert it from a pick up truck into a soft top? 3. I just got it...so it will take a while... Thank you. Minica |

Its a great feeling isn't it!
Exmoor trim are your friends with the first couple of points, front middle seats are here in matching fabrics: http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html To convert to a soft top you will need a tilt (hood) and sticks (frame for hood). There are a couple of options for the sticks, I would go for the XS heavy duty version but they're a bit more expensive. http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html You can no doubt sell the truck cab you have to recoup some of the cost. |

Many thanks 1978.
Will look into it. Would you have anything to go with a pick up truck? What I meant was to keep the cab and add a hood on metal sticks at the back. |

No problem, I am not associated with the company in any way, but they are highly regarded for hoods and seats etc.
If you want to keep the cab, you would need: http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html and http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender...etail.html There are a few options, so probably best to give them a call to ensure you get what you want. |

Yeeees! That's the one! Well, I got a 110 in Coniston Green...
I had a look on Exmoor side but still can not see the difference between the cab fit and body fit ? Any closer pictures to the connection with the cab? Thanks Minica |

You need a bar that rivets onto the cab that the canvas is trapped by.. Too many tools in the back to show you inside but here's outside shot

Thank you. It does make sense now. Would the canvas next to the cab obstructs in any way the back window from the cab?
