Fitting of a wing fuel tank and mud shields on a 110?
Has anyone got a wing fuel tank fitted that would mind hazarding an opinion on whether it would fit round the Gwyn Lewis mud flap/shield kit?

Or possibly would be able to take some pictures so I can have a guess!

If you have got a wing tank fitted I'd also be interested to know how you got on with fitting it and whether you'd do the same again.

Doubt it would as the wing tank takes up the space which is being occupied by that bracket.

Having said that I don't have one fitted so cannot 100% confirm ether way.

Which is sort of helpful? Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

It is a long time since fitted a wing tank. Best done on a four post with wheel off. Main tank needs dropping to fit the balance pipe. Best done with minimal fuel in tank as less to decant.

Very much doubt if you could also fit the mud shield. Also not really needed as the wing tank is a snug fit. Clean the wing area then waxoyl/treated it before fitting the tank. Then becomes slightly messy job if treatment not cured!

With a 33" diameter tyre (255/85/16) which is full of mud, max articulation upwards then the mud scrapes the wink tank, so not muchroom for extra mud shields.

Thanks.

If I do end up with a tank there it's going to look weirdly lopsided then Laughing

i have a wing tank from Brendan there. both wont go together but you could fit the top part of the mud shield in frnot of the tank to keep the muck off the top of the tank.

will take some pics tomorrow if i remember! Cheers
