2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Java Black
New battery needed
I need a new battery for my 2007 110 Puma TDCi SW and have searched many threads on the subject here but it still unclear as to the best option. My current battery I believe to be the original factory job is now pushing its 9th year.

There's been a lot of talk about Oddyssey and Optima batteries but judging by the threads they all need some sort of jiggery pokkery to make the fit. I'd like to know what would be the best single battery option that is a straight swap without any modifications to either the tray, hold down or terminals/wiring.

What would you recommend that will give me the same sort of longevity/reliability and plenty of CCA please?

Thanks

Mark

Worth reading this thread below here to the end, the posts by tatra805 are all I need to know to make my mind up.
I still run my factory Varta LFD90 which is now almost 8 years old, still holding its charge very well without running the truck for weeks at length, but the day that there will be weakness showing I will take tatra's advise and just replace by another OEM Varta LFD90.

^^^^^ Another vote for Varta. I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

While visiting Halfords the other day I noticed they have a "premium" Yuasa battery in with a lifetime guarantee. Think they were about 140 quid, however if keeping your truck indefinitely they might be worth while.

If however selling in the next 3 years or so Id get something cheaper.
