Horrendous and heart-breaking news.
How anyone could do such a thing is beyond comprehension. My thoughts are with her family and friends. RIP |

Terrible.
How a person can do that to another person you can't comprehend. |

RIP Jo Cox. I can't imagine what her children and husband must be going through.
no matter sentence is handed to this guy it'll in no way help her family nor in my mind will it be sufficient - very sad in every way. unbelievable behaviour which clearly needs to be understood to prevent re-occurrences. once again a 'baddy' armed and killed with weapon, it's been happening for decades. it's time the 'goodies' should have access to protecting themselves. |

So very sad. Too young, a mother of two and apparently a rising star. A complete waste. Whatever political persuasion we may be, we cannot fail to feel shocked at the attack on democracy by this incident. There is no place for uncontrolled hate in a modern society yet it remains manifest. When will it stop? When will people choose to live harmoniously despite each other's colour, religion or sexuality? I fear long after most of us on this pages are gone, if ever. I just hope her husband, children and wider family and friends are given the respect and privacy they deserve and that her death does not become the excuse for some political mud slinging. There is no place for uncontrolled hate in a modern society yet it remains manifest. When will it stop? When will people choose to live harmoniously despite each other's colour, religion or sexuality? I fear long after most of us on this pages are gone, if ever. Looking back over the last 2000+ years the evidence to me strongly suggests never. Perhaps people should come to grips with this and work with it and not against it by trying to unite everyone? I'm sure there'll loads of you that'll shoot me down and suggest I'm from the dark ages whatever whatever etc etc. You'll probably suggest I'm a one off fool like Donald Trump but lets face the facts. D Trump is where he is now because a huge portion of people agree with him. Yes a lot don't and are making themselves heard. For some reason those that agree with him don't appear to be so vocal? All I can say is let's get real and face the facts. I clearly wasn't there and don't know the facts but if my interpretation is correct there's no doubt who did it and it wasn't an accident. therefore the trial should be over in no more than 10 minutes. guy gets locked up and the key thrown away - simples. Have a feeling this isn't what'll happen tho. it's a crazy world. |

No two ways about it, it's a tragic loss and should never have happened.
The good thing that I think we can take away from it is that this is the exception rather than the rule. Had this happened in the US she'd have been one of 30 (on average) shot and killed yesterday alone. |

^^^^^ which is why the 'goodies' SHOULDNT be given access to defending themselves in this country.. Desperately sad case, a truly human politician...

sorry - I do wonder how many 'goodies' have murdered with guns in this country compared to 'baddies', I'd imagine it's a very low percentage and therefore feel the goodies should be allowed to defend themselves effectively. |

Jo was my local MP and this happened just 5 minutes from my family home! Such conflicting stories and angry locals as you can all undoubtedly imagine!
Just seems infatherable that someone can have believes or opinions so strong that such action seems logical!! |

I would like to agree but when you get people killing artist cos they don't agree with their cartoons then I can imagine someone who you feel is impacting on your quality of life through the policies they are promoting will stir up a greater storm.
Don't get me wrong I in no way condone what has happened quite the opposite it's despicable but to say it's unthinkable when you watch the news on a regular basis just doesn't stack up. I'd love to be in a world where this sort of behaviour was unfatherable only it would appear this isnt the case for far too many. What is clear is its a real real shame for Jo and her family. What a sad state of affairs. |

I think you highlighted another - but not unrelated - issue there.... Things like this are becoming 'the norm' these days. Gone are the days of people standing in their milk boxes or staging a protest, instead they're going for the shock factor to highlight their objections!
