This shows the difference between the Santorini black where one car has been done in my method and one has just been washed in a car wash.

Spot the difference. Same age, same colour, same car, same day...

Great transformation there, i use Maguires our two vehicles, i do nearly as a good job on mine but you go the extra mile, which i would love to one day but never been shown how to use one off those orbital sanders properly, so when you spend a whole day again on your D3, can i come and watch/help and pick up a few tips from you please Bow down Wink 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Not much to add recently.

I bought a Travall dog guard and rear space divider, fitted the dog guard but will leave the divider out until the shooting season, a great way to segregate the dog and my lunch!

I fixed the rear Aux in socket, luckily it was a simple one, the plug had come loose behind the fascia, so just a case of popping it back in and fitting back into the rear of the centre cubby. a ten minute job.

I looked at replacing all the interior bulbs with LEDs, I rang Advanced Factors for some advice, they said they'd call me back but never did so I gave up on that one.

I replaced the worn shiny and sticky steering wheel with a refurbished genuine item from Powerful UK, it's done in a lovely soft matt nappa leather with perforated sections. I enjoyed fitting it, taking the old one apart, airbags out etc, all thanks to the video How to that Powerful do. It's made a dramatic difference to the newness feel in the cabin, and feels so much nicer too.

It's been earning its keep too, using it to lug DIY stuff to our rental house in the countryside to do it up, you can REALLY load up a Discovery!

It's also been useful in highlighting bits of my Range Rover that clearly need attention but I had not noticed. Firstly the suspension arms needed doing, the hubs doing and now the brakes!

Such is life.... 2016 D4 HSE

I hate to say it, but money no object, it would be the Discovery. (Actually, money no object it would be a Range Rover SVA)

Having had Series Landies and Defenders, Range Rovers and a Range Rover sport, I am really impressed with the Discovery. It does everything very well and it suits my purposes.

Now before I get shot down in flames, I'm not saying the Defender is total pants, just that it no longer suits me.

I still love them, but I just don't want to own one any longer. 2016 D4 HSE

As the best all round motor, the Disco (D4 in my case) takes some beating. The amount of space when all the seats are folder flat is very impressive and useful. When you need 7 seats you have them. When you need a long distance, exec crusier, you have it.

It'll take you any where.

I cant think of a better motor...Wink

cheers

simon

ps I love my Defender and take it for the sheer fun and go anywhere capability...Wink

Not surprised by the reply really!

I love the D4 too... but there is something about the 'theatre' of the Defender that can never be beaten. Thumbs Up Cool YOLO... You Only Live Once...
