Just as an update for this...

We had a great few days staying on Portland Island instead. Great scenery, lots of fresh air for us and the dog and the best fish and chips I've had for ages

I went from Plymouth to Roscoff a couple of weeks ago when it kicked off.. found myself with 120 miles left on my range computer and it was ~80 miles back to Roscoff... so we walked more tha last few days of our holiday and saved the fuel.. but 2 days later the garages were full again and I filled up with a nice cheap rate
