Sorry - falling off refered to the suction mounts.

On the dls/brodit mounts they didnt look like the Ipad would fit or that if you put them on the top vents the vent would do anything more than fire hot air at the ipad

THat was my reservation either it didnt fit or if didnt alow the vent to work givent the size of an ipad vs a mobile?? Mike

Disco, where's your pc from? I had a quick google and looked at mini-itx systems, but my concern is the level of vibration when on corrugation, of which which I have quite a lot to get over this year. I also fancy a fanless unit but the lilliput screens look really good.

I have a garmin 1690 with topo and road maps for uk, some of europe, morocco, syria, jordan, turkey and a few other places. if i had a pc i could transfer all that to the garmin pc programme and use it with a bigger screen etc plus have full itunes library, films etc.

am not as keen as i was to use the ipad really, mainly due to the mount situation

The bracket mounted on the switch console (by the heater controls) looks pretty secure and out of the way of the vents.

I know what you mean about the vent-mounted clips. I had a generation 1 Navman GPS mounted on a heater vent in a BMW about 10 years ago. It got bloody hot! One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I like it - interesting to see in the flesh

Ive just bought a winscreen mount to see as it was a 1/4 of the price of brodit, but let me keep it in the case (i hope)

But ill review the more permenant fox Mike
