Range of a 2.4 Puma
What's the approximate range on a full tank of a 2.4 Puma. I'm off to Le Mans (600ish miles) tomorrow and wondering how far I'll get. All motorway sticking to the speed limit (65-70 mph)

110 or 90?

My 90y usually does about 450 miles at 60 mph until "Bong", which leaves another +50 miles on reserve, 500 is doable but not very funny - see the "500" thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic6435.html (about 44 mpg was my record, so 600 may be possible under certain circumstances). Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

Recent trip to Yorkshire camping (full) 110 did 31 mpg

How big is the tank

75 L ? 16.5 gallons = 512 miles.... in theory... I would say your looking at 425 to 450 max.

I generally fill up around 370 to 400 miles also in France the service can be quite a long way apart on some stretches so allow for this.

Cheers, I spend nearly as much time driving in France as I do here, only difference this time is there is a national strike tomorrow which may or may not affect availability of fuel. I'll fill up before the tunnel, that way I can easily get to my destination, no bother.

Just did 440 at the weekend.

Fuel light usually comes on around 420...

Cheers Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I shall report my range on my return. It's a bit sad, but interesting to compare.

Don't be sad, there do exist people unable to ever get above 20 mpg in a 110 ... a huge part is driving style. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I can usually rely on 400 miles from a full (second click) tank.

^ That works out at 16mpg? how?

If I was getting 16 mpg might as well buy a big petrol v8 such as a ML63 Smile

I'm sad keep a record of every fill up...... Very Happy

Driving at 70-5 I'll get 450 miles before the bong.
Generally average 32MPG using premium diesel, always stop at the first click because otherwise the excess ends up over the floor.

Ah, you are new to Defender?!
The 2.2 is a totally different story, and not a good one. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.
