16 x 10 modular wheels going rusty

Hi all. My defender has had a set of 16 x 10 modular wheels on for about a year now... I have noticed quite a bit of rust at the back of the bowl where it seems to join to the main upright section of the wheel... Does this sound normal ?

It does seem to be the norm for these wheels sadly. A lot of people put a bead of silicone around the join when they are brand new to stop this happening.

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Galway Green

spray with ACF 50 wipe off , repeat every 6 month or so will keep them looking good DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
