Hi Dan.

This might be a silly question, but how does the phone holder attach to the ProClip? From your photos, and the Brodit website I cannot see any holes in the clip to screw the holder into.

Thanks - David.

The holder screws on to the clip using small self tapping screws which are surprisingly strong - I thought they would only be a temporary measure and would need nuts and bolts for something more permanent however they really do work. You just need to be sensitive not to overtighten and destroy the self made thread.

I hate to be a spoilsport (I don't really Laughing ) because so many drivers seem to be besotted with their damn phones...... but why the hell is it necessary for so many of you to be gobbing off whilst driving.
For the life of me I cannot see why it's necessary for this constant chatter, much of which I suspect is of just the "I'm on my way to the shops" or "I'm on my way to work" type of rubbish. Who effing cares?
Turn the thing OFF.
I look forward to when governments grow a pair and enact laws authorising cops to immediately confiscate phones being used while driving.
Or the compulsory fitment to all vehicles of a device which totally blocks them except for emergency calls.

AlanH: mine is my sat-nav. I also find it less distracting to be able to glance at the screen and see what's made the phone go bing than than wonder what it was when it's in my pocket and it's easier to hang up a call if it's in front of you than irritating you buzzing in your pocket.

Like many, my phone is my sat-nav, I don't take or make any calls in the car. But there are plenty of people whose work requires them to do so, at least while it's still legal here. The law may change one day.

I fitted a Brodit clip mount to the air vent (as the picture shows above), then bought a separate phone-holder with an adjustable grip that I liked the look of, which came complete with windscreen sucker mount. (Non of the Brodit holders worked with my phone-cover).
I then detached this holder from the sucker mount & arm (which I didn't want/need) and self-tapped the holder with it's ball-joint into the Brodit mount - it's actually neater/smaller solution than the all-Brodit kit.

I.e. if you're careful with your choice, you could mount any suitable make/type of phone-holder to the Brodit mount, avoiding having to use windscreen suckers (which i dislike).

That's a top idea Black Wolf, that would stop the idiots that can't stop gobbing off. It really amazes me that people are so intent on their electronic toy things they cannot travel or sit quietly in a pub or do anything without constantly looking at and playing with them.
Even when flying we're not safe from them these days.
I went to buy a new one recently and wanted one where I could buy a cover with a clip so it would not fall out of my trousers accidently....... "We don't have that sort of cover these days" the poncy salesman said "People prefer to hold their phones in case someone calls"......
Just about sums up the average tosser behind the wheel.
AlanH.

It's only a phone holder. Things could be worse

Do you have an English version of the online shop. I did try but my German language skills have totally gone since 1984! I just had to give up.

Hi jomara, Thanks for this, & I did look there & did send a request to find out if the Ram 1" ball mount with thread is the same as that listed by Nakatanenga which just replaces one of the handrail bolts. I only need this for remote travel when using the wifes IPad mini as a Hema navigator, and don't want any extra holes drilled in my Heritage. This seems like an ideal location to mount a Rama mount.
