Have you thought about installing Parrot?
No need to worry about phone mounts then, as long as the phone is on Bluetooth, job done! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

Parrot was an option, though we use the 'google maps' app instead of a satnav, so the phone needs to be in view, I didn't really mention how we are going use it, I really like the old Nokia Bluetooth kits, brilliantly simple.

I have an Arkon Slim Grip Ultra and I think it's great. Either suction cups to the window or a sticky back pad that's provided. Doesn't fall off, phone mounts easily with one hand and doesn't fall out, you can still get at the ports, works on anything up to a 7" tablet.

On the subject of RAM mounts, I was a bit sceptical until one came with our new Trimble GPS doodah. They really are rather nice.

With the Brodit mounts you buy the car mount and the phone mount separately, as others have said. There are a range of phone mounts available including mounts with docking points.

For mine (an iPhone 6 with a silicon case) I use one of the adjustable mounts, by good fortune it fits my iPhone 6 with a fairly thin case and Pam's iPhone 5S with a much thicker case. You just adjust the arms at each side to suit the width of your case. Full dimensions are available on the Brodit web site for each of the holders. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Great guys, thanks. I love the Ram kit, I have one for my Toughbook, though I love the x grip, i don't like you need a ball mount, then an extension between the mount and the holder. I think!

I'm going check Brodit out today I think.

I have a Tetrax magentic kit admittedly in a 300Tdi with a mud console (and C4 Picasso). The holder element clamps on to an air vent fin (or a stick on fin supplied in the kit) and then there is a small metal dot or square rubber patch with the dot that goes on your device. Has held both my iPhones and Huawei Y635 (iPhone 6 size but heavier) without any issues and theres no clamps to deal with just line it up and it clicks into place magnetically.

Dependant on your phone they do cases with the little metal dot as an integral part and its easily transferable between airvents in different vehicles

Like the one in the link below.

That looks really nice piece of kit dantastic Thumbs Up i've got quite a thick case on my iPhone 6S it holds cash and cards would it fit the Brodit ??

You need 2 bits, one for the car and one for the phone.
For the phone they have a couple of different versions depending on what type of case you are using (if any)

RAM all the way...
Hi @Greeni - having tried various mounts over the years, with varying degrees of success and failure, I am now a confirmed RAM user... Bow down

Since fitting the RAM I have been seriously impressed with its flexibility, ease of use in mounting & un-mounting my iDevices and just how steadily it holds whatever is placed in its X Mount grasp... Thumbs Up

Although I have an awesome Alpine Bluetooth double din set up complete with in-built Sat Nav, I have been using Waze App for any journeys other than local. Waze is a really novel approach to Sat Nav and provides some of the best travelling data available, as it is provided live by the many thousands of other Waze users out there, as well as being a fully functional and impressive (FREE) SatNav App... Very Happy

Anyway, here is my RAM setup, showing first the X Mount itself and then with my iPhone 6s Plus mounted in both Landscape (my preferred) and Portrait options... Mr. Green

Another Brodit user here! I have the one that mounts by the vents. As others have noted there's the clip and then the holder for your phone. The specific phone holders are for your phone if they are *NOT* in a case. There are also options on generic phone holders and that's what I have as my phone is in a Tech 21 case. The rear of the holder is padded with a cut up piece of neoprene from a wetsuit to make a snug fit and minimise rattling.

Hi Norman, you may well be aware that two pallets of gear from Nakatanenga were stolen before reaching us.

Those adaptor so we're on those pallets.

Nakatanenga are busy trying to sort out replacement pallets. However there were some items specially made for us on those pallets so it maybe a little while before everything is sorted out.

Yes we will be stocking them
