If you go to a breakers yard have a good look around at the general condition of the yard.
If the yard has a sealed service (helps prevent ground water contamination) vehicles stacked neatly, parts on shelves or pallets neatly labelled then chances are everything is legitimate. If it looks like a bombed out scrapyard, then chances are they will be infringing everything from environmental laws upwards. In a well organised yard with well established recording procedures it would be much easier for the police to spot rogue items . Brendan |

Hi Brenden,
Thanks for the advice. I'm in Aberdeen and this breaker is Gloucestershire, CWS, does anybody know if they are any good? Cheers Andy |

I've not used them myself but I know some of the guys on DISCO3 have for various parts. If you want reviews perhaps ask there? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I know a few folk who have been to CWS (in Glastonbury.....) and had quite a lot of bits from there with no problems- they have gone to the yard and removed stuff themselves though.
Apparently they aren't the cheapest but not heard of any other issues. There is a big 4x4 breakers called Thorntons in Halifax- they seem to appear on eBay a lot and always seem to be breaking crash damaged landrovers. I have no idea about their reputation though......they are somewhat closer than Glastonbury however! Chris |
