I bought a magnet set - one round one sticks to the dash, another flattish one sticks to the back of the phone, iPod, small tablet (may need two in the last case) - and you're done.
Will see if I can post photos tomorrow. |

This is my phone holder, they cost about £5 on ebay and do the job pretty well.

I got one of Amazon last weekend, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Z620MW8/ it fits into the defender square air vent very well. But When I have tried the magnet on the back of my HTC one phone a couple of times the screen has gone very weird. UPDATE It seems HTC's have an app called Dot View which is turned on by magnets, so I have turned the app off and will see how it goes. So if the phone is OK with it I can recommend it as it keeps the window clean and free and it is easy to mount and dismount the phone. Last edited by TimDaw on 8th Jun 2016 6:30pm. I bought a Ram Mount from Brendan at 4x4 Overlander. Excellent bit of kit with lots of components to set up a system for your situation. It's a bit more expensive than other system but you get a quality piece of kit.

Another vote for Brodit. They do mounts for the car and mounts for the phone. You get exact fitment on both parts.
Brilliant bits of kit, used them for years. Not cheap but you'll only buy once. http://www.brodit.com/brodit.html?pn=home Plenty of UK suppliers. Cheers Simon |

Thank you for that info.
May then depend which phone the OP uses. On the Apple products I did not notice any problems - but can appreciate that some phones may be affected. |

Thanks guys, Brodit looks good, but as Butchers Boy says, does it accommodate a case too?
