Hi -
Doing some light renovation on the new truck - it's an ex-utilities LR Special Vehicle Operations vehicle (1999 TD5 110), thinking the suspension could do with a refresh, but the old springs are impossible to decipher as to what the ratings would have been... Looking online, and from the heft of the workshop back, I'm guessing it was fitted with the 110 HD springs, so I'd need a set of the following: NRC 9448 (o/s) 9449 (n/s) fronts NRC 6389 (o/s) 6389 (n/s) rear That makes sense doesn't it? And there only seems to be one (LR) rating of shock absorber for 110 rears on TD5 or later, anyone know better (I'm OK with fitting OE rather than going Bilstein or whatever right now)? Thanks in advance for any thoughts! |

Never mind, found the answer myself - although seems a bit of a mystery why they have handed springs on some models and non-handed on others! Surely if the driver's side needs stronger springs on one model, it's true across the range!
Anyway, in case someone finds this thread instead of a more useful one (!), here's the link to the workshop manual page listing all TD5 model spring models: LINKY |

My 110 SV Utility has double springs on the rear. Is this standard for a 110? Mid Life; Live It!

Planning the following now:
Fronts: normal duty 110 standard springs (NRC8044 o/s, NRC8045 n/s) Rears: Terrafirma heavy duty standard height springs (TF036 pair) as I don't really carry anything significant on the front but with the workshop back it's got quite a weight over the back wheels. And for shocks, considering the Terrafirma Commercial / Military HD ones (TF142 and TF143) all round - can't find anything much on them on forums etc though so guess I'll have to trailblaze! Won't be doing crazy offroad stuff but nice to know it'll cope if I forget where the road is Anyone reckon this setup is a daft idea? |
