It's supposed to do that, unless it's making a really unpleasant noise!
It's just the valve cleaning itself after you turn the engine off. Not that it seems to make much difference to the longevity. |

They're actually meant to be pretty silent in operation, but most aren't and the chukka chukka is quite normal. It may well go on for years without problems, but if it stops now (after having started) you'll need to do something about it.
Certainly nothing to worry about at the moment. |

Try some Millers diesel additive, that'll help keep it clean too.
