 We already were in that club but now we have two for some god forsaken reason. I give up! 
We must take a drive up into the mountains 
I'm really not sure about that red roof on the new Defender. I said have it redone black but was out voted. |

As a caravan owner myself I can only say not as bad as tractors or god forbid cyclist who ride two abreast, who on my local twisting country lanes are my bane.

It is pretty big yes
It's pretty swish, even has a ceramic loo and rain sensing Windows that close automatically (until they don't LOL) |

As someone that drives tractors I can say it's really annoying getting stuck behind cyclists and caravans when you're trying to get somewhere with a tractor. They don't seem to be able to move at any sensible speed on the roads round here, then lots of them do stupid manoeuvres in the road when they realise they're lost. Even if I'm miles away from a passing place and the caravanist is right by one, most of the time it's easier to bite the bullet and reverse a huge distance than wait for the caravanists to work out how to go backwards in a straight line. The only things worse are the pilgrims. They bring the biggest caravans you've ever seen then try and flog you dodgy second hand chainsaws out of white Transits. Meanwhile the ones that aren't going round being dodgy are wandering down the middle of the road barefoot completely oblivious to the fact they're in the way. |

I think really we can put cyclists at the top of the annoying list, followed in joint second by caravans and tractors. I do however like caravans and tractors having owned both but hate cycling especially when a 90 year old overtakes me on a steep hill so

Utterly bonkers vehicles. We have many round here. I watch in amazement as they weave all over the place driving home after an afternoon at the local bar. I play a game as I sit behind them, chugging up the hill at 30kmh, trying to guess whether the driver has no licence because they're a) ancient or b) an alcoholic or c) both. I choose a lot of C's....
As far as Caravaning in the mountains, do come and let me know when.....so I can leave the region  . Seriously though, we have a great camp site near us, beautiful part of the world, loads to do. Arrive at 0300h so you don't get in my way, then park and not move for a week and I'll be happy!! But I can give you loads of top tips as to what to do and where. You'll have a great time. Perhaps do it for the arrival of the Tour this year, given how much you love cyclists!!
As for tractors, I appreciate they have a job to do, but because locally we have small farms, most have old, slow tractors that bimble long at 25kmh, yet refuse to move over. For example, we have five laybys between the town centre and the lower valley 5kms down the road. Tractors never, ever, ever move over. Ever. Never ever. And even at the bottom, where there is a roundabout, if you don't peel off in the other direction it might be a further 2-3kms before the next roundabout/junction. God forbid you get stuck behind one with the driver bouncing around like he's sitting on a whoopee cushion. As I said, I appreciate they have a job to do, but so do I, so even pulling over once in 5km whould be a help, but no, impossible. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I have a caravan and do some cycling, so completely understand why it's so annoying, many apologies to all. Riverboy, does your 90 have any trouble with that caravan? Looks pretty heavy.

We have the same issue in the Pyrenees. Just back from house viewings in the valley and stuck behind a caravan train all the way back. Lots of passing places too
Thankfully not too many Aixams round my way but that's just because less people get caught! |

It's not the caravans, it's the drivers. We whenever possible will pull over to let traffic pass. Sadly many people are not so courteous.
