Hello Guys,
One of my colleagues is heading to France next week on holiday with family and a trailer tent but is a bit nervous about the apparent lack of diesel. Is there any good apps or places to find the latest advice on the matter? Sadly he speaks no French but I can show him how an app works before he leaves. Thank you for the advice and best of luck! Nothing like a good strike in France. Par for the course. I'm going on strike next week, so if anyone wants to buy a chalet in Chamonix, bad luck. I'm fed up with my employment welfare. Fed up I tell you. Until it's resolved, no work from me. My employer is a right b*^*%#. Monsieur Le Grenadier

last time i travel a cross the channel on ferry in a van to work in Spain, the in side of the van had to inspected we were inferred we had to remove lube oil 25lt x 8 15w/40, diesel in 20lt x 2 Jerry before we can bored the boat to sail , we inferred 5 litre MAX of diesel can carried at a time

My scout group regularly take a minibus + trailer with a pair of 20l jerry cans on. Depending on where you are staying, could nip across the border to somewhere more civilised for your fuel!

At the time i thinking that each lorry on the boat has a fuel tank with more diesel than we triad to transport and 50 ltr lube in each engine sump

We were due to leave on Eurotunnel early on Saturday morning for a week in the Vendee, but I'm cancelling the trip tomorrow
![]() The news and 'real life' feedback from forums show the situation is getting no better, and they are now deploying fuel reserves. We would need to refusal at least once on the way down, and I don't want to spend the week worrying about being able to get home, wondering whether we can go on day trips etc. Bought the Tunnel tickets and accommodation with Tesco vouchers, and expected to lose them both. Really pleased that Eurotunnel allow a free re-booking as long as we tell them within 24 after we were due to travel, and Siblu camps will only charge 35 to rebook later in the year ![]() France is too nice a country for the French at times ![]() Not sure how we'll spend next week, but I've just bought a trailer this evening so we could go camping in the Defender ![]() 2015 90 XS Station Wagon (sold) 2010 110 XS Station Wagon (stolen) |

Not sure what a French domestic dispute has to do with Brexit or why it would affect it?. But I do agree the country is too nice for the French

I just think if they affect people's holidays and, God forbid, the Euros then a lot of people may be swayed towards Brexit. Unless there is a third option to evict the French from France. Poor them with their 35 hour week

![]() Getting real news on the situation isn't easy, but there doesn't seem to be any sight of a solution in the next few days. By all accounts the Vendee has been affected more than many areas. Just don't want to spend hours in queues to get a few litres of fuel at a time. Would rather spend it eating moules to be honest! 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection 2015 90 XS Station Wagon (sold) 2010 110 XS Station Wagon (stolen) |

Well I couldn't find any stations open today around me. My farrier told me this afternoon that he found one with Diesel but the queue was three to four hours long and they limit you to 20 euros worth.
![]() Looks like it's now spreading to Nuclear plants so power cuts are next I suppose. ![]() Perhaps I need to spend a day panic buying tomorrow ![]() Last edited by Riverboy on 25th May 2016 9:25pm. Edited 1 time in total |
