No fouling/hitting on anything then, with 265/75,...nothing on full lock etc?
What about "tracking" on a straight smooth road,...no wandering, harder to keep in a straight line without steering wheel correction etc? I'm not due for tyres, but I do like the wider/"squatter" look, so all this is good info for me. Thanks, Pickles. |

It depends on how well adjusted the lock stops are in the first place.
If they were spot on for 235/85 then the tyres will rub with 265/75 on full lock. It doesn't matter if the do though, as it's dead easy to adjust. As for tracking I noticed no difference between 235 and 265, I did however notice a difference when going up to 285/75 as the tyres are taller. I'm thinking of changing my 235 85 16 mtr,s for some all terrain ko2. If I have 265 75 16 will the height of my vehicle remain the same? I ask as it only just fits in the garage at the moment and if 265 75 16 lift it any higher then It may not fit under the door.
I haven't used bfg all terrains for a while but I presume they are a lot quieter than the Goodyear mtr that I currently have on? I'm planning a long road trip this summer and don't fancy listening to the mtr's on the motorway. |

Yes it should be identical in height, in fact 265/75 will be 804mm in diameter, and the 235/85 will be 806mm.

On this same (ish) topic, anyone know if 235/85s will fit (widthways) on 16x8 mods or are they too narrow?

Yes they will be fine. It's the upper limit but it'll be ok. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

I have a pending dilemma.
Currently run 235/75s Goodrich A/T and have a brand new one as spare. However, like the look of 265s but would have to replace all 5(£££) if I went for them. Current 235s are the older version of the A/T so are these still available and if so I only need to replace 4! solutions to my dilemma welcome! Tommo |

Assuming new 265s, and the tread wear on the 235s is greater than 1mm - it'll actually be higher. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

That's the standard tyre size on my Puma, so should fit, no spacers needed.

When I built my 110 I had two sets of tyres (255/85 BFG MT's for playing, and 235/86 General TT's for road), the TT's were pretty good really, handling was nice.
Fast forward to them getting worn, so I up-sized to 265/75 BFG ATs. I preferred the look of the 265's,but every tramline in the road they would follow, and handling for some reason always seemed a little "strange" and I also have a Mantec steering guard fitted (standard LR "option" part) and they rubbed on the corner of it. Fast forward again to the 265's being worn, I dropped back to 235/85 Goodyear MTR. The handling is now perfect, no rubbing on full lock, cross country performance is the same and I don't get muddy side windows anymore. |

Still not sure,
if i fit 235/85/16 on my 1989 defender 90 which has disco wheels and 30 mm spacers will the speedo be correct , also would there be no ajustment needed to the defender, Please could someone give me a just the basic answer. Monsoon |

Yes they will fit, you won't need the spacers so it's purely an aesthetic choice or if you need the extra steering lock.
Speedo may or may not be out, it depends what drive gear is in there currently. Fit them and then check it against a GPS, if it's out then you can change the drive gear. |

i would like to put spacers on my defender 90 as the disco wheels are tight and you cannot get the centres in without them.
if i use a 235/85,16 will everything be in sink i;e speedo and no rubbing. Monsoon |
