Iom tt 2016
I am off to see my first tt this year. I've had some great advice on the disco3 site. But having never been to the isle or a tt I am after all the advice I can get.

We are staying in Douglas as foot passengers and would gratefully receive advice about where to stand.

the 1st time without a shadow of a doubt is the bottom of bray Hill. It was the very 1st place I ever witnessed then rocketing down in the F1 race.
Given the houses it's more breath taking than any other part of the course for a 1st view 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Or at the bottom of Kirk Michael village, on the green where the WI have a marquee selling tea and cakes. You are stuck there for the day once the road is closed but nothing will make your hair stand on end like being 3 feet away from those mentalists passing you at 170mph. It's terrifyingly exciting!!! Take beer with you would be my advice...

Both bray hill and Kirk Micheal have been recommended a lot. Take it you need to get up early to get a good spot.

There's so many places to watch. My problem is I am only going for one race day. But if the weathers right it's one hell of a day. Superstock, lightweights, sidecar, senior qualifying and tt zero.

First of many I hope.

If you can take a bicycle with you, you'll be able to get around a bit more and try several spots. We did it for a day trip back in 1996, but it was slightly spoiled by the ferry leaving Heysham at 7.15am (it was a 1.15am sailing...) and the captain's announcement as we approached Douglas that all racing for the day had been cancelled due to the weather!

If you can get out there, Hillberry, which is a short way before Signpost Corner, is also a very exciting spot, but you'll need to be early.

Sadly for us, we decided to give the 2009 TT a miss and lost our regular hotel spot. We managed to get in at Mount Murray in 2011 and 2013, but at £209 a night for what was basically a Travelodge, ITV4 has to suffice now (and MM burned down in any case).

Well the tt and the Isle of Man is certainly worth a visit. The bikes and riders are amazing they are really fast. We watched from creg ny baa and bray hill. The island is a really nice place.

I can see why a push bike would be good one day we walked 30k and most others 10k

Creg my baa. Spectacle of them coming over the top of the mountain at 170mph and past your legs hanging off the side of the verge. They then stand the bike on its front end to get it turned into the hard right on their knee before smashing it through the box back down the next section.

Done it two ways but by far the best was grab a taxi to that point before the road closed. Awesome awesome day.

We watched the lightweight from the bottom of bray hill were the camera is. They all hammer it through there incredible.

The zero is amazing they make a swoosh as they slam past, then all you see is a helmet flying down the road. I was standing right by the creg ny baa sign with a pint of Manx ale when they came through.

The sidecars are amazing their passengers show no fear. We also saw the senior with the norton leading. But will never forget seeing John Mcguinnes as the first rider out flying past me at God knows what speed and within two metres of us. Then hutchy doing a massive wheelie down the straight to the corner.
