On a lighter note...No pun intended.
Also bought some "candy sticks (1 kilo),who doesn't remember toffee cigarettes??Originally sold inna match box with a red tip, (early eighties at the most).Ah,a kilo,yum!!!!!! Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

There are a couple of good sweet shops in North Yorkshire, one in Thirsk and one in Helmsley, they have all the things you remember.
Midget Gems but they have to be Maynards. When I was a kid, I lived in a newsagents and every Friday when I got my spending money I used to walk up the road to the local sweet shop to spend it much to the annoyance of my dad who thought I ought to patronise our shop.
