It's incredible to see a Puma stripped down to the chassis and realise that the chassis and shell are almost the same after 50 years. Shame you cannot use the Richards chassis, they are very good. This is a pic of the same model as yours but it is a 1968 Station Wagon. I am just waiting for new doors. I envy you being able to buy all the parts you need off the shelf. It's the only thing that is holding up my rebuild. Good luck with your Puma rebuild and keep the pics coming Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Great pic of your restoration Zagato!
You could post some more, and keep us up to date in the off-topic section! I'd love to see process! Dont marshland make them for land rover or something like that? Could be mistaken but ive sure ive read something alone those lines before? Im 100% sure they build the chassis the same as land rover though, the rails are 2 pressings welded down the middle. Not sure if im right but dont richardson's weld 4 pieces of flat together like the SWB series chassis used to be made?

Assuming its the same Zagato its worth reading the whole thread on the series2 forum
Marlands definitely make TDCi chassis now, would assume Land Rover manufacture their own though? Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain... XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |

Hi defendertom and welcome to the forum I saw your post on welcome to defender2.net and see it is a Tdci engine in the project svx. Did the engine come with its ecu unit? Is there a 10AS unit? One reason for not starting is if the injectors are not coded to the ecu, maybe problems with the immobiliser in the 10AS unit? Could you post more info on the install of the Tdci power plant including the electronics side? Brian. |
