Replaced the bulb in mine and now it's slow...
Out of warranty - new clock is £50. Weee bit boring, would rather have one on-time that I cant read at night, compared to one that is wrong. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

have you made sure that while you have had it out the clear face hasnt become dis lodged and is pressing on the fingers slightly?
when i painted the surround it took me a few attempts to get the clear face to sit properly  |

If you are gaining minutes, then I have no explanation.... but if you are losing minutes, then it may be a result of going too fast relative to stationary clocks...

Funny you should mention problems with clocks. I am still having problems with Land Rover customer services. The clock in my 90 did not change to British Summer time again this year - who do I complain to?

Looking at it for a full 24hrs* I noted that it would occasionally make an attempt to move a minute but kinda hiccuped/farted at the same time and got nowhere. Sometimes taking 4 attempts at these 'boss' times.
Running it round and round using the + button didn't blow out the cobwebs. Doesn't look like the hands are touching the cover but cant rule it out. I'll pull it out and run it on 12V inside the house and see what happens... If it's still farty, I dunno, contact cleaner or WD40 in the mech? *looking at it at the lights... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

It was replaced ... no questions from the dealership on space time or Einstiens theory of relativity! Quite a relief actually...I was ready for a long debate with JLR that a Defender moving faster does not equate to time slowing down....my dear old beast does not even get close to the speed of light

my clock is never accurate.....I am planning to remove it and put a boost gauge there.

I'm thinking of replacing mine with a digital display and a 3D printed surround / bezel...

Took it out and connected it to a bench DC supply for a day without the plastic cover. Didn't lose a beat over 2 days...
So it turns out I installed the clear plastic and the seal in the wrong order. I shouldn't have even taken it off in the first place, but I assumed it'd need taking apart to get a new bulb in there... So the clear plastic has a rebate in it that looks like it's made for the seal, but nooooo, other way round chap! With the wrong assembly order the plastic juuuust touches the hands which gives juuust enough friction to lose me a minute every 50min on average. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |
