We run Zu rims with 255/85/16. They use standard alloy wheel nuts.
Have no experience of Bowler wheels but they should work with standard alloy wheel nuts. We are happy with the Zu's and 255/85/16 BFG. It would be down to your personal taste which wheel looks best in your eyes. Brendan |

Hello,
The ZU is no option any longer because I would need to put spacers... What could you guys propose to put as a rim? - Alloy rim - goes with standard defender wheel nuts - enough offset to put 255/85R16 Thanks! |

Bowlers use standard alloy wheel nuts. I am running 265's on bowler 16" and they are spot on. You will not regret it.

Am slightly confused. We run 255/85/16 on Zu rims without issue. Why would you need spacers? Offset of Zu Rims is 11mm. I can not readily find offset of Bowler rims. Bowler rims are 8" wide whereas the Zu rims are 7" wide. According to car bibles.com the minimum 16" rim for a 255/85 tyre is 7" and maximum is 8.5" Brendan |

I have run this combination (ZU with 255/85 16) both with and without spacers, and there are no clearance issues. As Brendan said, the ZUīs have an 11mm offset which makes them the widest stanced 7" rim on my list. I too do not have the offset dimension for the 16" Bowler, so cannot compare. I genuinely prefer the ZUīs, and one the reasons is they are the easiest wheel to clean Iīve even had on any vehicle.

I have Zu's with BFG AT 265/75R16 without any issues. Very happy with them and indeed rims are very easy to clean, no clearance issues at all.

I believe Bowlers are ET 10 so would be the same as the Zu's so no need for spacers. James

When I enquired about Bowler 16 inch rims with Bowler Manufacturing a few months back I was advised the offset is ET 10.
