Hi Andrea
I have had the seal between the windscreen and bulkhead replaced, leak one gone, the heater box resealed, leak two gone, the door seal replaced, leak three still there but very minor. With a bit of careful adjustment on the door seal I think I can resolve this final leak as well. The area on the door seal that is causing my problem is at the front about half way down where the curve of the wing is. Water gets in here and then seeps along behind the dash. Get the dealer to seal the heater box and check the door seals. Bob |

Do you know which bit of the heater box they sealed? Mine's now out of warranty and I've still got a slight leak into the passenger footwell, which I'm convinced is coming from the heater box. I installed a snow cover because I originally thought it was coming in from a blocked drain plug and sealed all around the heater intake to prevent the wings dumping water into it but it's still not resolved. I wondered whether it was coming through the bonnet hinges and dripping onto the heater box. I guess I have 2 tasks: stop the water getting onto the heater box; and seal the heater box so that water getting onto it doesn't end up in my wife's bag One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Alan That was the problem my dealer identified. They removed the box from the bulkhead and resealed that. Bob |

Alan
The leaks into the passenger footwell on mine are 99% fixed. The last change by the dealers was the door seals but I still get a small amount of water in if the rain/wind is blowing from the wrong direction. I know it is the door seal as I can see where the water enters the vehicle. I could use sealer but would like to try and find out where the seal is failing. Also, if I park with the passenger door out of the wind the problem stops. Once the water is in it finds it's way along the dash and drips in the centre of the footwell - it looks like it comes from the heater but in fact does not. Maybe Pete from Nakatanenga could post a reply and let us know if the door seals he supplies would resolve this type of problem ? I, for one, would pay the money to get a set of door seals that stop water getting in Bob |
