is there a reason why you prefer the NAS lights? (they are bigger than standard 73mm lights on defender.
I use wipac leds. they are exactly the same size and same fittings as the original. so no holes need to be drilled the kit even come with a relay. Cheers |

I just like the size and visibility of NAS - it's more murky here than in Sydney (where I spent 12 years)! 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent

I wouldn't worry about the visibility and size issue of NAS LED over Wipac. A couple of friends and I have the Wipac kits fitted with the relay for the indicators and they will not be missed. If following at a sensible distance the lights are stunningly bright. Brake lights are almost painful to look at directly. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Just a heads up if you fitting to a 300tdi.
I have just fitted some Wipac LED's from Mud UK,side lights brake & indicators, with the special relay. When I plugged them in, none of the indicators or front side lights would work. After a bit of research on t'interweb. It turns out that some,300tdi's were wired the wrong way round for these lights,so the wires for the LED's needed to be changed around.I cut the wires from the LED's to the socket as supplied & wired them the oposite way round. Yes I've also heard that the wiring 'changes' at some point - TD5 production? It's effectively reversed....
With regard to the size of the lamp, as others have said you needn't worry as the standard size LED's really outperform the incandescent lamps by a long shot. I've fitted std size RDX LED's all round (plug and play) and it makes a world of difference. If you're changing the indicators, get yourself the special really which will prove invaluable if you intend to tow. Best of luck and I hope all goes well. |

Had RDX on my previous Defender for 2yrs before selling. No issues.
Put the Wipacs on my new Defender 3 weeks ago, they seem brighter to me and time will tell how reliable. |

I fitted rear NAS,for practical and cosmetic reasons, they throw out so much more light light, even with standard bulbs. The Wipac units I have leaked till I sealed them (Captain Tolleys).I also had to modify the hole for the stop/tail light so they didn't overhang. Also be aware that your rear wheel hits the stop/tail light when you open the door,I "fixed" the check strap so I have even less door clearance now .I'll probably fit a wheel carrier at some point.Shud also add,I do prefer the standard indicator, sidelights at the front.
