Same here
Had exactly the same problem, picked up new 110 xs utility from marshalls peterborough, on way back to northampton experienced power loss several times, phoned dealer who asked me to bring it in the following morning.
Took it back and was told nothing wrong with it, sent me home, same fault on way home so had landrover assit out. Had to drive him round for 2 hours to simulate fault whilst diagnostics pluged in. Faulty thermostat turned out to be the problem, they did not have one so they gave me a courtesy vehicle and recovered 110 to peterborough to fix.
Collected it and had to complain to get them to put the fuel in it they had used, and to cap evrything land rover assit scratched the dash with their laptop, New Dash fiited,

Once when my first Puma broke down it was recovered to hartwells in Nothampton. Normaly I would not go near them but as I had just pulled out of a garage (two miles away) after filling up when it died I had no option. Anyway I got it back two weeks empty and with only about 2 gallons left in it. What a row I had with them, they were so rude and in the end just told me to leave or else. I will never go there again!

My first post on this site. Very Happy

My 2008 Puma does exactly the same. Just a sudden loss of power. It can happen from start up, while driving, pulling away etc.
No warning lights, no smoking or yerking.
Also no rise in temp on the gauge.
Only way to get it back to normal, is to stop, switch off and back on.
I do notice however that it seems to be worse when its really hot outside. In winter I havent had this problem.
Stealers just scratch their heads, can be this, can be that. But no fix yet

AFAIK they looked at the EGR, but it seemed to be fine.
And they guy said its still making the "right" noise when shutting down the engine

Going in again today perhaps to have them do a diagnostic again. Last time no faults came up, apart from a dirty ABS sensor on the right rear wheel

have the same and the scanner did not detect anything! I can not drive it for the moment, but after consulting dgardel, it would be a good idea to clean some sensors (MAF, MAPT, fuel pressure, etc). Puma 110" SW

This problem (esp when it's hot) is symptomatic of the presence of a ceramic plate on the turbo inlet hose. On the later model Puma this have been removed, allowing a metal plaque to close/open.

HCS, give Fanie a call at LR N1 City, he will be able to explain it to you in more detail. The last time I was there he looked at my engine bay and told me that mine is the updated version and should not have this issue.

this from the technical guy at my stealer:

Quote:
We found on some cars that the wires on the turbo modulator plug pull out due to stress on the loom or engine vibrations. So they move the ferrite further down the loom. So if there is issues with the pins on the plug you must renew the plug with pins.
