[SOLD] Stage 1 V8 109
Although I've only owned this vehicle for a short time, my dream car has become available so I need to sell my Stage 1 to make room and raise some cash.

First registered on the 5th April 1983 this is a genuine Land Rover Stage 1 V8

These are very rare and are entirely factory built and are basically a Series 3 109 with a factory 3.5 litre V8 and Range Rover running gear giving fulltime four wheel drive with a 4 speed Range Rover gear box and vacuum operated diff lock

This particular one was a Land Rover Monthly project car a couple of years ago and was rebuilt on a Richards galvanised chassis with all new brakes and suspension, it also had a new fuel tank, new doors / door tops and tailgate and new seats.

Supplied but not fitted are brand new genuine rear wings and rear panels either side of the tailgate.

There is also a truck cab supplied.

Brand new tilt and galvanised 'chunky' hood sticks.

Mileage is just over 89,000 and the MOT expires July 14th 2016 and was issued with no advisories

It starts first time every time and is very smooth to drive with plenty of power (good for 80mph !)

The second gear is a little bit noisy but I have a spare gearbox with overdrive that is available by separate negotiation.

Leave it 'as is' for that original look, or fit the new wings and have it painted - the choice is yours.

With Series prices very much on the up and this being a very rare vehicle anyway this Stage 1 represents a sound investment.

Viewing and test drives welcome at Headcorn, Kent

I've probably used the wrong term 'dream car' in all fairness Rolling Eyes of course it's a Land Rover, is there anything else Laughing

Its a Land Rover product that I've never owned (and I've pretty much owned them all) and always wanted to, it's a very original 101 ....

Excellent choice!

I miss my 101, definately the one Land Rover I really shouldn't have sold. Especially after I had just finish the refurb, but I was expecting to have to move to Oxford and couldn't afford anything more than a flat at the time. Just after the 101 sold the job move fell through...doh

They are a blast to drive and much easier than people think.

Plus the closer you can sit to a V8 the better Laughing

I'll dig out the before and after photos Very Happy Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long Smile

Oh and yes they are tinted windows in the canvas. Julian at Exmoor Trim was most helpful in getting the canvas sorted. Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long Smile

Oh boy it's so lucky I saw this after I bought my Range Rover or it would now be mine and I would be single and homeless.

I could sleep in this right?

I really wish I still had my stage one, it only had 26000 miles on it and the engine was brilliant but the chassis was real poor.
