Depends on what you are used to and what you're willing to put up with.
I'm 6'4" and both my puma 110 sw and td5 90 hard top I have found to be easily all day comfortable. However other than my motorbike a defender is my daily transport so it's all I'm used to. Yes my left knee was near the dash in the puma and the door pull handle is in your right thigh but not to the point of being a pain. I'm 6ft2 and fit fine, depends what you want your seating position to be like! The only thing i have done is fit a smaller steering wheel so there is room between the tops of your legs and the bottom of the wheel!
Seat risers are another option but could limit vision if you have a tall upper body. Then there is also the more sportier seats such as the Recaros and the like which alter the seating angle (bum a bit further down) so slightly increasing leg room and comfort. I personally am happy with just the smaller wheel and standard XS seats. I've travelled over 1000miles in a weekend with this set up and been perfectly comfortable and not achy or having to get out to stretch my legs. |

Problem with the test drive option I would have to travel an age to fine one..... More than used to travelling with legs rubbing on handles etc., and tend to get used to it pretty quickly. Like the spec of the Puma, perhaps not the mpg, so will have to find closest best choice and travel to it. Worth a gamble I reckon. |

If you like the Puma, and who wouldn't but still find the seat too close to the dash there is an option.

I'm 6'6'' and 'manage' to fit, with the help of Mudstuff seat rails mentioned above.
I took the supplied washers off the rails to lower them as much as possible, otherwise view out of side window was a problem. It's my daily drive, toured Europe in it etc., I find my back is more comfortable in the upright Defender than in normal cars, but legs are still a bit tight, but you just get used to it and adapt/contort(!). I have just purchased a smaller wheel (Startech) which I'm excitedly waiting to fit - hoping that will help the legs a little. I'm sure a modern Discovery would be vastly more comfortable, but... meh. |

As already mentioned, seat rails and a smaller steering wheel will help.
Also, get the Nakatanenga leather door handles which take up much less space. |

I've had 3 Deafener 110s, a Td5, 300Tdi and now a Puma and found only the Puma to be a bit short for my legs at 185cm (6' 1"). I bought some extension rails from someone here in Oz, Mulgo I think, and fitted them on a lazy day during a trip to South Oz.
Amazing how much extra room they give and I really haven't noticed restricted vision from sitting too high. I bet the rail extenders from others will help you settle in OK. AlanH. PS. Strangely I also find the seats aren't as comfortable as previous models and a few other things are different as well........ |

I'm 6', but long in the leg and arm. Having recently swapped my Series 2a which had been modified to give more leg and arm room the HCPU seemed a rather 'snug' fit. Some of these things may not be required for a SW/DCPU where the seat can be reclined more or rails fitted. To obtain more elbow and other room here is the list of things I did. Remove the Puma seats, their height causes your shoulders to be pushed forward. Replace with pre-2007 seats. Chuck away the headrests as they are too low to be of use and fit a decent set of seat covers. Fit an Optimill steering wheel boss and a smaller steering wheel (I could not afford a posh one so it's a Mountney). Look for a wheel that is not heavily dished otherwise the advantage of the thin Optimill boss is lost. Be warned the new wheel may partly obscure the dashboard so be aware of this. If appearance is not an issue remove any carpet or matting from the drivers footwell. I did manage nearly 400 miles in a day with the original set up but three months later I did the same journey with the alterations and know which is preferable . There is no single thing that improves matters but a number of incremental changes. Finally if elbow room is a real problem one of the original 110 or military doors with sliding windows gives a little more space.

I find my Puma hardtop a lot better than the farm's TD5 HCPU, with the TD5 I keep bashing my knee on the steering wheel when using the clutch which I don't even come close to in the Puma.
