Alpine ute 93 dab
Anyone tried one of these units ? I'm looking to upgrade from standard, like dab and bt, mechless looks the way to go as I don't use CDs anymore... Looks a nice unit

Only thing with DAB in the car is you need amplified aerials

Interesting to know that Ken, my beemers have dab and that's one of the reasons I'm considering the unit. Could it be your Aerial ?

Since looking at the alpine, I may have a punt on a double din ..

I have a cheap Pioneer mechless unit. Bloody brilliant, Got it second hand for £15 was only a month old! Bluetooth streaming is genius and also does hands free calling!

DAB does require either a new antenna or you can get an inline amplifier but they're not as effective.

Double din is my goal when the future wife stops spending my money on flowers and dresses!!

I can't have a car without DAB, so after getting my 2015 last month I had to get a DAB upgrade.
I changed out the Alpine unit, and I'm now running a Pure H260DBI with the standard wing mounted aerial.
All I added was a DAB aerial converter behind the head unit.
Maybe I'm in a good DAB area, but it's working very well for me.

Moles.
