Difficult to find !

What do you think about this : buy a 48 spline, take off the leather, and put it on a standard type C 36 spline ?

With or wjthout leather, are steering wheels the same ? Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW SE

It probably easier to buy a 48 spline column and swap it over Thumbs Up Ray

Never tried it but don't see why not, Landrover fitted 36 and 48 spline columns to the same vehicle years so should just be a bolt in job. Ray

I think range rover classic steering wheels are 36 spline so should go straight on but I don't know what the indicator cancelling bits look like or if they will work. Ray

Yes, the column is a straight swap but a bit involved as you have to partially strip the dash.

I was going to do this to my parents 56 plate County spec 90csw, it had the 36 spline "c type" wheel but not leather which he wanted. Couldn't find a 36 spline leather one for love nor money, none were on eBay for months on end so decided to swap the columns.

In anticipation, I purchased a 48 spline leather wheel off eBay. Amazingly, when it turned up, it was actually a wrongly listed 36 spline!
