How is that rigging the election?

I'm no fan of Cameron or the Tories but you are telling me that the Government is using taxpayers money to raise awareness to afore said taxpayers to highlight an issue, that the Govt in power, elected there in a democratic vote, believe the afore said taxpayers may wish to be enlightened on?

And someone thinks that should be stopped using a petition? Rolling Eyes New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info

From what I understand, the issue is Cameron is well known for being a supporter of the EU and the information being offered by this document is biased towards staying. I think we'd all benefit from honest data not speculative opinions. If Cameron on a personal level was an advocate of leaving I don't think a document of this nature would have been published. Confused I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

But that's my point. You won't get honest data because every side is biased one way or another. However the current Govt is in charge of the purse strings. QED spend on what it feels it wants to say. Not necessarily what you want to hear. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info

The Electoral commission has rules that must be adhered to by campaigners; these are set out by the Referendums Act 2000 and the Scottish referendum act 2103.

In theory Cameron has circumnavigated these rules by stating that the leaflet is for information and is for the public good and is not part of the campaign. So spending this amount of Tax payers money on electioneering for us staying in the EU is fine and dandy, and we should all be grateful to Dave for keeping us so informed in such a balanced and fair way.

Of course this is nonsense it is blatant canvassing by the tory overlord who is fighting for his political life re the in-out campaign.

As he has clearly demonstrated this week with his half-truths re the Panama Papers and full disclosures that have had to be dragged out of him, I personally would not believe anything that comes out of the tory machine at present. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I think Dave Cameron has read the Referendums Act 2000 and has as they say got in there and got in there quick, before as the rules state he would be unable to.

'In the last 28 days of the referendum period, Section 125 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 will apply. This restricts publications about the referendum by bodies or persons that are wholly or mainly publicly funded.' For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Cameron and Osborne are proving to be a disaster for the country. True, they were elected and as a result are in a position to pursue their ideological path, no matter how destructive. But, as if that wasn't bad enough, they are also patently incompetent at doing the jobs they were elected to do.

The only reason that we are having this ridiculous referendum is because the Tory party is split by the Europe issue and prior to the last election was scared of UKIP's popularity. What an irony that the Tories achieved a majority without the need to form another coalition as they expected and planned for and that UKIP ended up with only one MP who disagrees with much of his own party's policies.

So, as a result of political incompetence, financial incompetence, dishonesty and rank hypocrisy the country ends up tearing itself apart in an unnecessary political civil war.

I haven't read this pamphlet like you guys have, but even if it's biased, one-sided, lists only the positives and states only half the facts, surely the opposition parties are capable of cobbling together something against it?

Instead, we have to base our vote on what we read in the papers and confuse the issue with immigration, refugees and terrorism.

Yet to make up my mind on the EU vote. I don't think anyone really knows what would happen in the even of an exit as there's too many moving parts to it all. Could be great. Could be a disaster, who knows. Whatever happens some will win out of it and some will certainly loose. Any offical information on it would be welcomed by me. Personally, I think the Tories are doing a pretty good job. Not perfect by any means but a damn site better than the Blair/Brown fiasco that's still fresh in many of our memories.

For someone who is not interested in Political viewpoints you use a fair few words to protest. This is a good forum but if it was just about Defenders it would not be half as interesting, If you do not like it or do not want to join in on the out in debate just do not press the link, simple Smile For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
