Contacted Thorntons this morning. They got back to me promptly, and quoted 50 quid plus shipping.
Wanting to look at the part before the weekend, I called my local dealer.
Surprisingly, he has a new one in stock, and I asked what it cost.
List preis 38 euros plus tax.

RD, it was the last thing I was expecting. Looking at the part, a blow moulding with 2 additionl nylon parts moulded into it, I could well have imagined it being sold for more..... 1998 Tdi 90 SW,
