Yes telehandlers are fine for towing in good conditions (we bale cart with one) but in winter clearing ditches we have had to resort to pushing it along with the bucket.

Really though, you're spending a lot of money on a load of hydraulics that aren't of any help to you, if you want something slow then you'd be better with a tractor.

Not too sure how a telehandler or digger would be the best candidate as a gunbus/tow vehicle?

Unimog - twice budget
DAF - twice budget

I know what I had posted wasn't that useful due to what the budget actually is, but I was illustrating what could be had for a little more. But obviously in this case that isn't possible.

As scotsstag and Cupboard have both said, telescopic materials handlers would be utter w*nk for towing a trailers around off road, and so would a vintage 2wd backhoe loader. Neither of which vehicles you have posted links have a tow hitch, and only have space for 1 person on board... they are designed to do a specific job i.e digging and materials handling, which isn't quite being an off road tow vehicle/"gun bus".

I think a standard tractor is going to have to be the way to go, but at £2k you'll be struggling to get a 4WD tractor in good working order. Pete

You really need to extend your budget by at least 1500 - 2000+ or alternatively look to casually hire something modern and up to the task from a local farmer or similar. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.
