OK, so I've now driven the car with the Climair wind defelctors on and I'm not convinced I like them.

Firstly they do stop the air buffeting you in the face as you drive along, but at the same time, the cabin of the puma can get so hot you need the fresh air, and it hampers it slightly.

Secondly, on my seats with the seat risers, my line of vision through the side window is exactly through the deflector at the top of the glass, which is curved and therefore distorts what you're looking at, so you're vison is impaired.

Thirdly, if I were to wind the window down to have to talk to someone or stick my head out, I have to duck it under them, which isn't great.

So, the jury's still out, this may be one modification I don't keep. Big Cry

I'm sorry to hear that guys! I still have stock seats no risers at the moment until I change them. If I do lean out of the window I do have to duck although this hasn't bothered me as I don't lean out often I think the benefits for me anyway outweigh the disadvantages - mine are staying Thumbs Up 2010 Defender 90 HT

I think I will end up removing mine, might keep them for the next shooting season, as they will be handy for keeping the car ventilated for the dog while I have to lock him in it now and then.

As posted in the "what have you done today" I washed both of mine over the weekend, first time since Xmas, so it's nice to have shiny cars. Mind you, I was doing it in a sleet shower Big Cry

It's sunny today so they look nice again.

I removed the Climair deflectors at the weekend, they just got in my way and I didn't like the distorted view through them.

I might keep them for winter and fit one on the passenger side only, so I can lock the dog in but give him fresh air.

Car still looks lovely and clean, mind you I didn't do many miles last week when everywhere seemed flooded round here. 2016 D4 HSE

Also, I got new seat covers for the front seats, the details are in this thread but they are good quality and only £25 each.

OK, a bit of a quandary going on now. Shocked

When I wanted another Defender last year, ideally I wanted a 110 Utility, it suits me better for the size on a shoot day etc, maybe I should have hung out for one, but I didn't. Big Cry

Now I am wondering if I should swap.

I really don't know if mine would sell quickly, how much it would fetch and if the whole effort is worth it. A 110 USW is much more money, and I've wondered if I could have one side by side with mine and swap bits over that I want to keep like the seats, cubby, wheels, KBX stuff, and then sell the 90.

Thoughts? Musings?

There's a nice looking one for sale in the forum but the guy doesn't seem to be replying to any questions.

There is a lovely 110 pickup for sale on Angry Pumas Cool

It's a hard call to make, I went to town on the 90 xtech but deep down I knew a 110 CSW would be ideal for the family. No regrets. Test the water and advertise the 90, if the mods have to go with it to attract a good price, its not the end of the world Thumbs Up Andy

Andy,

A pickup isn't ideal for me but a USW is, throw the dogs and muddy stuff in the back on a shoot day, but keep the front two rows for passengers and the guns, lunches etc. The 90 restricts me to being able to take 1 person around on a shoot, it would be nice to take the Mrs AND my mate, I have to choose between them!

Did you mean Angry Pumas facebook page or the forum? I can't see much content on the FB site?? 2016 D4 HSE

Sadly and with great regret I have sold the Defender, the new owner comes to pick it up at the weekend.

It was a hard decision to make, but from the very start I always knew it was a bit of folly, a project to keep me busy and I knew I'd lose money on it overall because I'd be doing so much to it.

We all go through life stages that dictate if and when we can spend our hard earned on these things and mine arrived so it was time to sell. It may not be my last one, who knows.

I'll keep my eye to the forum but I won't be updating as much. I recently joined Angry Pumas group on Facebook, they have some real numpty questions over there that need answering! 2016 D4 HSE
